So Wait, Are Parkland Survivors David Hogg And Cameron Kasky Going To Prom Together?

Is this ultimate #promgoals too good to be true?

We were all rooting for them: In a tweet Monday Parkland survivors David Hogg and Cameron Kasky seemed to be announcing they were going to prom together. Kasky shared a photo of him embracing Hogg, with the caption, "Prom 2018."

And Gay Twitter was ecstatic.

But it turns out to be too good to be true. Hogg's mother, Rebecca Boldrick, told TMZ the two young activists aren't going to prom as a couple. David has another date, and the photo was from a recent photo shoot.

"Cameron and David love each other very much, as do the 20 or so other kids that are part of their group, but not in a romantic type of way," added Cameron's dad, Jeff Kasky.

The school's May 5 prom will honor the the four seniors who died in the shooting—Nicholas Dworet, Joaquin Oliver, Meadow Pollack, and Carmen Schentrup—as well as two students who both died in 2016, one from cystic fibrosis and one from suicide, the Sun-Sentinel reports.
