Parsons The New School of Design has canceled a four-day workshop with contentious designer John Galliano, who came under fire for a drunken, anti-Semitic rant in 2011 that ultimately cost him his job as creative conductor for Christian Dior.

A spokesman for the school, home to numerous seasons of Project Runway, was going to feature “a candid discussion about the connection between his professional work and his actions in the world at large.” But it was nixed when programmers couldn’t come to an agreement with Galiano about the conditions and content of the talk.

Galliano, who is still embroiled in a lawsuit with Dior, began a temporary “artist residency” with Oscar de la Renta earlier this year.
