Pastor Crashes Drag Queen Story Time, Gets Booed Out

He has previously shown up at events to tell children there is no Santa Claus, and led a boycott of Houston for electing a lesbian mayor.

A pastor barged into a drag queen story time Pride event to spread transphobia and was quickly shown the door, to a chorus of boos.

Self-proclaimed evangelical pastor David Grisham of Last Frontier Evangelism filmed himself disrupting the reading, part of Anchorage PrideWeek, in Alaska, at the Loussac Library this past weekend. Another individual filmed the incident from inside the room, which Grisham posted to his Facebook.

"Today we're at the Loussac Public Library where they're having story time with a drag queen," he said. "So we are gonna go inside and tell the kids the truth, there's no such thing as transgenders, and that God makes boys boys and girls girls, and there is no changing."

"Hey kids, my name is Pastor David, and I want to tell you there's no such thing as transgenders," he told the children, interrupting two drag queens and a drag king reading to them and their parents. The adults in the room quickly responded, telling him to leave, while drowning him out with boos and the song, "The Wheels on the Bus" as he was led away.

"I just encourage people who don't know the difference between a drag queen and somebody who is transgender to do their research look it up," JJ Harrier, PrideFest co-chair, told KTVA.

"They are completely two different things. And so, the individual yesterday who was on a rant will probably continue to do so, but our community is so glued together right now, especially during pride week, that we're just gonna stick together and remind and educate people who we are."

Harrier added that the stunt might lead to increased security at future Pride events.

Grisham also protested last year's Pride parade, where his anti-LGBTQ message was drown out by loud music.

Interrupting events is not new to the street preacher, who has shown up at numerous Christmas events to tell children there is no Santa Claus.

In 2010, while leading the group Repent Amarillo, he led a boycott of Houston, Texas for electing a lesbian mayor in Annise Parker. That same year, he attempted to burn a Quran, but had it taken away by a skateboarder, who then gave it to an Islamic center.
