Paul Rudd didn't quite make it to our List of Hottest Men Over 50 (he's only 44!) but there's plenty of people out there that would love to see him in some skin-tight spandex.  Those dreams may be coming true: according to Variety, Rudd is in early talks to play the diminutive superhero Ant-Man in the upcoming Marvel movie.

According to comic-book canon, scientist Henry Pym discovered a chemical that would allow him to change his size and communicate with insects.  Since then, he has been fighting crime (alongside his girlfriend, The Wasp) with said serum.  Now, Pym's legend will be made into a feature-length adventure helmed by Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz alum Edgar Wright.

After the news of Rudd's casting broke a predictable online backlash has commenced, as is par for the course with every super-hero casting rumor.

Will Rudd eventually team up with Tony Stark, Bruce Banner, and the rest of The Avengers as does Pym in the comics?  Only time will tell if those bromantic dreams will be realized too.
