Peaches: "I Don't Need To Be Transgressive"

The electro-goddess talks to us about "Rub," "Margaret Cho" and how pop music is catching up with her.

We sat down with electro-queen Peaches to talk about her new album, Rub, the "ballsy" video for "D*cks in the Air," and how she feels now that Miley, et al, are following in her transgressive footsteps.

"I don't need to be transgressive," says the "Diddle My Skittle" singer. "I just need to celebrate people being themselves."

One of the more celebratory tracks on Rub is "D*ck in the Air," a thumps-up response to all the booty-popping twerking anthems.

"It's in response to the [call] on women to shake their boobs and shake their ass," says Peaches. "If there's something sticking out of you... If it's a dick? Shake it!"

Comic goddess Margaret Cho appears in the video for "D*ck," which sees the ladies running around L.A. landmarks like the Wacky Wacko shop, Casita del Campo, and Barbra Streisand’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame wearing anatomically correct knit body suits.

"A friend of mind had found these mohair naked suits," she explains. There was an an old man suit with gray pubic hair, so I wore that. Margaret picked the Asian man—who had a very large penis."
