Pedro Pascal's Sister Lux Comes Out as Transgender

"Perfect. This is incredible."

From protecting Baby Yoda in Star Wars to supporting his trans sister in real life, Pedro Pascal is spreading love across the galaxies.

The Mandalorian star's sister, Lux, has come out publicly as transgender on the cover of the Spanish-language magazine Ya. Pascal introduced her to the world by sharing Lux's cover on Instagram with the caption "Mi hermana, mi corazón, nuestra Lux," which translates to "my sister, my heart, our Lux."

Speaking to Ya in Spanish, Lux said her transition "has been something that's very natural for everyone in my family. ... It's almost something that they expected to happen." The 28-year-old added that she previously came out as nonbinary to her family before coming out as a trans woman. "Moving through the world as a woman is much more simple for me," she explained, "but I still advocate for nonbinary identities to have a space in society."

Lux also recalled coming out to her brother Pedro over FaceTime. "[He] asked me how I felt because I remember he was a little worried," she said. Once she reassured him that she was happy, he congratulated her, saying, "Perfect. This is incredible."

Her brother has gone on to become "an important part of [my transition]. He's also an artist and has served as a guide for me. He was one of the first people to gift me the tools that started shaping my identity."

Lux is currently studying acting at Juilliard in New York City, so maybe she will follow her brother to the big screen. Sending love her way!
