The latest rumor surrounding American Horror Story: Freak Show is that a fan-favorite character from a past season is making a comeback.

Pepper, the microcephalic woman in American Horror Story: Asylum, is returning for Season 4 according to an Argentinian fan site’s leaked call sheet for the upcoming season’s first episode.

It would make a lot of sense for Pepper (played by non-pinhead Naomi Grossman) to return, since she was inspired by real-life sideshow performer Schlitzie, immortalized in Tod Browning’s  1932 classic Freaks. American Horror Story: Freak Show is set a decade before Asylum, so this could easily be Pepper’s back story.

Meryl Streep offspring Grace Gummer—who played a young witch in a Coven flashbackis listed as “Penny, the Candy Striper.”

And some cast members we already knew about finally have names: Jessica Lange’s character will be Elsa Mars, Kathy Bates will play Ethel Darling and Evan Peters will play her son, Jimmy Darling.
