Peppermint and Cody Rigsby Bring Britney and Janet to the GLAAD Media Awards

Watch the co-hosts lip sync for their lives at the annual awards show.

After two years of virtual ceremonies, the GLAAD Media Awards returned this year with two in-person events, one held in L.A. last month, and another one in New York this past weekend on Friday, May 6.

Since it had been a couple of years since members of the LGBTQ community gathered for the annual awards, GLAAD made sure it was a night to remember. Over the course of the evening, many famous faces graced the stage including LGBTQ actor and activist Wilson Cruz who accepted the Vito Russo award, along with stage and screen icon Judith Light who received GLAAD’s Excellence in Media Award for her decades-long allyship and support of the LGBTQ community.

There was also an impromptu performance of "Somewhere" by Oscar-winning actress Ariana DeBose, along with an appearance from the new White House Press Secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, the first Black woman and openly LGBTQ person to serve in the position.

One standout moment from the ceremony was when the night's co-hosts, Drag Race legend Peppermint and Peloton's Cody Rigsby, faced off in an epic lip sync for your life, complete with costumes and killer choreography.

RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars Season 7 queens Trinity the Tuck and Yvie Oddly introduced the co-hosts, with Rigsby dressed as Britney Spears in her iconic "... Baby One More Time" schoolgirl outfit, and then Peppermint doing her best Janet Jackson, slaying the audience with an amazing version of "If."

Come for Rigsby's Britney impersonation, but stay for Pep's gagworthy dance moves. Who shantays and who sashays away? Find out in the fierce video below.
