This powerful songstress first hit the spotlight as a contestant on the show "Star Search," earning second place at the age of 9. From there she became a cast member of "The Mickey Mouse Club," where she performed along the likes of Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake. After auditioning to sing "Reflection" for Disney's "Mulan," RCA Records was thoroughly blown away by her talent and signed her to a contract. Her debut album won her the Grammy for Best New Artist, beating out Britney Spears for the category; it was during this time that the press insinuated a heavy rivalry between the two young stars. Dissatisfied with the cutesy bubblegum pop image the label had forced her into, Christina revealed her raunchier side with her fourth album, "Stripped." She returned with a more mature, subtle image that was influenced by Old Hollywood when she came out with "Back to Basics" and is currently a coach and judge on "The Voice," a singing competition show.
