One of the many members of Odd Future--a collaborative group of singers, rappers, and other talents--Frank Ocean hails from New Orleans, Louisiana. After the devastating events of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, the lyricist moved to Los Angeles to pursue his music career. In 2011, Ocean would release his critically acclaimed Nostalgia, Ultra mixtape, with melodic tunes such as Novacane and Swim Good receiving much praise and radio play. Ocean's lyrical play and astounding vocals brought him to the forefront of the music industry, allowing him to pen songs for the likes of Justin Bieber and Beyonce Knowles. He even obtained two features (No Church in the Wild, Made in America) on Hip-Hop moguls Jay-Z and Kanye West's Watch the Throne album.
On July 4, 2012, Ocean released a screenshot of his thank you note for his upcoming album Channel Orange on Tumblr that would make history in the Hip-Hop community; as he openly professed his love and relationship with another man back in 2007 at the age of 19. Featuring hit singles Thinkin Bout You, Pyramids, and Bad Religion, Channel Orange is now available on iTunes. HIDE
