Her first role was a small nonspeaking part in the Disney Channel original movie, The Thirteenth Year, and her onscreen debut was opposite Jodie Foster in The Panic Room. She did a string of independent movies until she hit enormous publicity surrounding her being cast as the lead in the enormously popular Twilight movie saga. In 2010 she was listed as Vanity's Fair's highest earning female actress, earning an estimated $28.5 million for acting in films such as The Runaways, for which she portrayed rock star Joan Jett.
