Pharma CEO Martin Shkreli: I Wish I Raised Price Of AIDS Drug More Than 5,000%

"This is a capitalist society, capitalist system and capitalist rules."

Martin Shkreli, the Turing Pharmaceuticals CEO who became a national villain when he hiked the price of Daraprim from $13.50 a tablet to $750 per tablet, is still the worst.

Not only did he take back his promise of lowering the price of the drug that is often used to help AIDS patients, but now has admitted that he regrets not raising it even more than the original 5,000%.

"I think I could have it raised it higher and made even more profit," he told Forbes Healthcare Summit last week.

"This is a capitalist society, capitalist system and capitalist rules," Shkreli continued."My investors expect me to maximize profits, not to minimize them, or go half, or go 70%, but to go to 100% of the profit curve that we’re all taught in MBA class."
