Pope Francis: Anyone Who Supports Gay Culture Can't Become A Priest

People who "present deep-seated homosexual tendencies" are still not allowed to enter Catholic seminaries.

Pope Francis has just approved a training document entitled “The Gift of the Priestly Vocation” that reaffirms that gay men are not allowed to be priests.

The guide declares that the Catholic Church, "while profoundly respecting the persons in question, cannot admit to the seminary or to holy orders those who practice homosexuality, present deep-seated homosexual tendencies or support the so-called ‘gay culture.'"

There's a loophole in the system, however, as the document does say that men who experience “homosexual tendencies which may only be the expression of a transitory problem, such as, for example, that of adolescence which is not yet complete" are permitted to enter Catholic seminaries.

So, just to be clear, if you are young and think you might be gay, but are looking to suppress those feelings by entering a world where you're prohibited from having sex at all, you're more than welcome to join.

The regulations are just another example of Pope Francis' inconsistent views on homosexuality, starting in 2013 with him asking, “Who am I to judge a gay person of goodwill who seeks the Lord?”

“The new document on priestly formation is a profound disappointment,” Marianne Duddy-Burke, executive director of LGBT Catholic group DignityUSA, told The Huffington Post. “What does Francis really believe about LGBTQI people? The signals are ever more mixed."
