“Pose” Stars Go Behind the Scenes in New Gag-Worthy Sneak Peek

Get to know the girls before the groundbreaking series premieres tonight on FX.

Category is: Legends and first looks.

Teasing tonight's premiere of Pose, FX has released an extended behind-the-balls featurette for the trailblazing series.

Focusing on transgender performers in New York City's 1980s ballroom scene, Pose has already made history with the most trans series regulars ever in an American scripted TV series. Additionally, the production has employed more than 100 trans actors, crew members, and consultants.

Joining trans actors of color MJ Rodriguez, Indya Moore, Dominique Jackson, Hailie Sahar, and Angelica Ross as series regulars, Pose also stars Evan Peters, Kate Mara, James Van Der Beek, and Billy Porter.

"Pose tells the story of a marginalized community where people were ostracized from their families and also society," says Jackson, who plays veteran diva Elektra Abundance, in the new featurette. "To be part of the largest trans community on TV in history is surreal."

“It’s over-the-top, it’s wild, it’s fun,” adds Porter, who plays MC Pray Tell. “It’s about choosing celebration in the face of the darkest of odds.”

The stars also share some backstory on their characters, including Angel (Moore), who's having a steamy affair with married Trump-in-training Stan Bowes (Peters).

Ryan Murphy, who created the series with Brad Falchuk and Steven Canals, announced on Twitter last month that he will donate 100% of his profits from Pose to LGBT charities.

In another new Pose teaser, the cast asks fans who may be struggling with their identities to share their own stories of love and acceptance on social media with the hashtag #Pose4Love.

Pose premieres June 3 on FX.
