Watch House Mother Elektra Rule The Runway In Exclusive New “Pose” Clips

The House of Abundance has arrived.

“It’s about determination. You have to step out on that runway like you own everything.”

Pose, the latest project from creator Ryan Murphy, has already made television history by featuring the largest cast of transgender series regulars for an American TV series, and after last week’s debut of the extended trailer, get ready to meet elegant house mother Elektra (Dominique Jackson) in two exclusive electrifying new videos.

In addition to featuring five trans actors, MJ Rodriguez, Indya Moore, Dominique Jackson, Hailie Sahar and Angelica Ross, in series regular roles, the project also stars Evan Peters and Kate Mara as a New Jersey couple who get sucked into the glamour of ’80s NYC. James Van Der Beek will play Peters’ financial kingpin boss and Billy Porter has been cast as ballroom MC Pray Tell.

Elektra is the house mother in the legendary House of Abundance, who rule the ball scene—but they get some competition from Blanca (Rodriguez), who breaks from Abundance to form her own house, House of Evangelista. Who will win the battle of the ball?

“Along with being a dance musical and an affirming look at American life in the 1980s, I’m so proud that Pose and FX have made history right from the beginning by featuring the most trans series regular actors ever in an American television production,” Murphy said in a statement. “Additionally, the first season of Pose will feature 50-plus LGBTQ characters—a record in American television history.”

The series was shot on location around New York last year, even filming in the legendary gay bar, Julius’—transformed into Boy Lounge for the series—in the West Village. The first season will consist of eight episodes, with the first two directed by Murphy.

Mark your calendars for Sunday, June 3, for the premiere of Pose, kicking off LGBT Pride Month. Now that you have met Elektra, watch her own the runway in another exclusive clip below.
