“Pose” Cast and Crew Share Pics From First Days on Season 3 Set

"It's going to be epic hennies!"

Pose’s third season started shooting this week, so cast and crew members treated fans to a behind-the-scenes look at their first few days back at the balls.

Focusing on gay and trans performers in New York City’s 1980s and 1990s ballroom scene, Pose, created by Ryan Murphy with producers Brad Falchuk and Steven Canals, has made history with the most trans series regulars in an American scripted TV series.

Janet Mock shared a photo from what looks like a department store set while directing the season premiere, and Canals revealed that he’s already directing episode 2.

“I couldn’t be more excited to be back on set with my @poseonfx family today to start shooting season 3 of this show that I’m so proud to be a part of,” wrote Billy Porter, who earned an Emmy for his portrayal of HIV-positive emcee Pray Tell. “I can’t wait for y’all to see what we have in store for you this season—it’s going to be epic hennies!”

Many Pose stars and legendary consultants posted group shots reuniting Ryan Jamaal Swain, Dyllón Burnside, Mj Rodriguez, Hailie Sahar, Angel Bismark Curiel, Dominique Jackson, Jason A. Rodriguez, Leiomy Maldonado, Twiggy Pucci Garçon, and Jack Mizrahi.

Burnside, who plays HIV-positive dancer Ricky, even posted a video of his dance lesson from vogue icon Jamal Milan. Tens across the board, boys!

When Pose was renewed for a third season, FX Networks and FX Productions chairman John Landgraf said it has “elevated our culture and the TV landscape like few shows before it.”

Pose is expected to return this summer.
