Prada Goes Mad For Plaid, Hitchcock For Fall/Winter 2013

Prepare to be impressed.

Prepare to be impressed.

The Prada show today in Milan was, as it always is, one of the highlights of Fashion Month. And what was Ms. Miuccia feeling for Fall? Well, plaid, fur, buckles and a very Hitchcockian vibe. Looks like someone has been to the movies recently.

Highlights of the collection included oversized plaid bags (sure to be a hit come this Fall) and buckle shoes that will no doubt be seen in a slew of street style photos when the Spring 2014 collections show.

As for the clothes, the waists were belted and hemlines uneven on many of the looks, and lots of mink was to be found on the many oversized coats. And the set, always a highlight, was all about shadows, daunting cats and a very, very long wooden runway for the girls.

Speaking of, the models were a big attraction, as they always are at Prada, with Jessica Stam, Marciacarla Boscono, Adriana Lima and Iselin Steiro joining more than a few new faces (those lucky girls to book the Prada exclusive) and current American phenom Ondria Hardin, already a favorite of Karl Lagerfeld. Not to mention the appearance of Kirsten Owen, the iconic British supermodel who looked just as good as the younger gals at the age of 42.

Take a look at some of the best looks here, and start saving your money. now. You’re gonna want this. All of this.
