What do you get when you pair proud dads of LGBTQ teens with a rainbow Pride bus? Only the cutest viral video we’ve seen all week.
Dublin Bus, the Irish capital city’s main bus company, invited some prideful fathers of queer youth to surprise their kids with a trip to Dublin Pride. A video documenting the campaign—which has garnered some 16,000 likes and 4,000 replies on Twitter—sees dads of gay, lesbian, and trans teens surprise their kids and hop on board for a glittery, rainbow-hued ride to Pride.
Stephen McEvoy, who’s worked as a driver for Dublin Bus for more than 30 years, surprised his son, Liam, by donning a rainbow suit and driving the Dublin Pride bus to the festival.
“He knew nothing at all about it,” McEvoy told Instinct magazine. “He said it was the best surprise he has ever had.”
Watch the full video below. Fair warning, though, you might shed a tear or two.
This year at @DublinPride, we had the proudest bus in the parade, not because it had the most glitter or flags, because it had the proudest people, Proud Dads. Gwan ahead and warm the cockles of your heart. #DBPride #ProudDads pic.twitter.com/m4wNYMdiKs
