"Prison Break" Is Returning—With Wentworth Miller And Dominic Purcell!

The show will pick up with the same characters several years after we last saw them.

Fans of the FOX drama Prison Break are in for a treat, as a reboot of the series has just been made official.

Not only that, but the show, which ran from 2005-2009, will see the return of its original stars, Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell.

FOX first announced news of the revival last summer, but didn't make it official until this past Friday, although specific details won't be announced just yet.

This will be Millers's first time returning to his career-making role since coming out as gay in August 2013, and is an opportunity to get into character while being more comfortable with who he really is off set.

"I came to grips with the fact that my public persona was in misalignment with how I actually felt," he said when he first came out publicly. "I feel more fully expressed [now]."

FOX chairman Dana Walden said the revival will be a "bit of a sequel," adding that "it picks up the characters several years after we left them in the last season of the show."
