Today is the three year anniversary of the Pulse shooting, where 49 people lost their lives in Orlando, and another 53 were injured.

Events will be held across the country to honor those who passed, and to offer an opportunity for community and to call for an end to the continuing epidemic of violence committed against LGBTQ people.

Annual Remembrance Ceremony at Pulse

The onePULSE Foundation is holding its annual remembrance ceremony at the now shuttered club, from 7-8pm.

"We welcome the community to join together once again as a symbol of our strength and solidarity. It is on this day that all of Orlando and the world came together to show that love wins," organizers said in a Facebook event description. Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings will attend, alongside survivors, first responders, and other community members.

Silent Vigil at Stonewall in New York City

Gays Against Guns will host a silent vigil at The Stonewall Inn, from 7-7:30pm.

"We remember [the victims of the Pulse shooting and] we call people to action to end what is the gun violence epidemic in the United States," said organizers in an event description.

Pulse Remembrance Vigil in Washington, D.C.

Pride Fund to End Gun Violence is hosting a vigil at Foundry United Methodist Church, in Washington, D.C., from 7-8:15pm. Survivor Tiara Parker will attend, and the Gay Men's Chorus of Washington will also be on hand.

"Join us as we come together to honor the victims and demand change to our nation’s gun laws. We will read the names of each of the victims and will have a moment of silence to reflect on this tragic loss of life," organizers shared.

The Pulse Remembrance Event in Norfolk, VA

Community members will gather in Norfolk, Virginia, on the lawn in front of the Walter E. Hoffman United States Courthouse, from 6:30-8:30pm for a remembrance event to include reading the names of those lost, candle lighting, and the sharing of "words of power," according to the Facebook event description.

Pulse Vigil in Memphis, TN

OUTMemphis is set to host a vigil at its headquarters, from 6:30-7:30pm, where attendees can honor those lost three years ago and "address hate, violence, bullying, and safety in our community and give voice to the intersection of race, gender, and sexuality," organizers said on the event page.

Pulse Vigil in Knoxville, TN

Knox Pride and the UTK Pride Center are hosting a vigil from 7-8pm at the Friendship Pavilion at the UT Botanical Gardens to "remember the tragic events to our LGBTQ+ family in 2016," according to a Facebook event page.

Fauquier Moms Vigil for Pulse in Warrenton, VA

Moms Demand Action will host its third annual evening walk with glow sticks in memory of those lost in 2016 at Pulse. Attendees are encouraged to bring glow sticks and wear rainbow colors to symbolize "healing and light," a Facebook event description reads. Speakers will also address the crowd at the event, which will take place from 8-9:30pm.

Pajaro Valley Pride and Conexiones will gather with community members for a vigil beginning at 8:30pm. Coffee and hot chocolate will be provided.

The LGBTQ community and allies will gather tonight at The Blazing Saddle, from 6:30-8pm, for a reading of the names of those lost, speakers, and performances. Both ASL interpretation and Spanish interpretation will be available.

Organizers behind the Charleston Transgender Day of Remembrance will honor those lost at Pulse by meeting at the High Battery to "toss flowers into the harbor in their memory and reflect in silence on this tragedy and on the continuing killings of members of the trans community," starting at 7pm.
