Finally, the Queer Eye–Saturday Night Live crossover you didn’t know you needed.
In a new digital short, Tan France, resident fashion expert on Netflix’s Queer Eye reboot, takes SNL’s Pete Davidson shopping at New York’s Saks Fifth Avenue to help elevate his Staten Island style.
Davidson, who describes his aesthetic as “Guido trash,” admits that he never feels sexy and doesn’t own a lot of mirrors. “I don’t like my face,” he says.
If nothing else, we learn during the mini-makeover that the 24-year-old comedian “keeps it all tight and up” in either Calvin Klein or Tommy Hilfiger briefs. “I can’t wear regular boxers because my balls, they go on one side,” he explains. “I have long balls.” France, like us, appreciates the candor.
France’s queer eyes are pretty laser-focused on Davidson’s crotch from that point, clocking both a hole in his high-waisted underwear and an unzipped fly. It’s a hard job but somebody has to do it.
I COULDN’T be more proud to share this with you. Last week I was lucky enough to shoot a short for SNL digital with the incredible @petedavidson. Yep, I’m still SHOOK too! I can’t give you more @queereye episodes, but here’s this to keep you going. Link to the video is in my bio. Go watch it and lemme know what you think. Thanks @nbcsnl and @saks for having me, and to @heidilgardner for joining, my love.
Among his snazzy new looks, Davidson rocks a short denim jacket and longer white tee. “I feel like Timothée Chalamet,” he says. Wait, was that a read?
Check out Davidson’s “cool upgrade” below.
