Queerview television guide for February 5

After a brief break, Ugly Betty returns tonight and they’ve brought Val Emmich back, too. Betty’s rocker neighbor will give her reason to re-think her decision to move back home and, hopefully, be leaving her heart in one piece.

Emmich isn’t the only familiar face returning to our TV screens in tonight’s gay TV picks…

Ugly Betty (ABC) 8:00 PM EST
I thought we saw the last of Val Emmich as Betty’s hottie neighbor Jesse after that rooftop party where Betty and Amanda agreed he wasn’t worth fighting over, but he returns this week and he seems to be interested in Betty all over again. I’m keeping my fingers crossed when we speak of this story afterwards the phrase "ulterior motives" does not come up.

Celebrity Rehab Presents: Sober House (VH1) 10:00 PM EST
Despite the positive reviews and the promising presence of Dr. Drew Pinsky, my experience with VH1 reality shows has kept me from checking out Celebrity Rehab (that and the feeling that I saw enough of Mary Carey when she ran for Governor of California). I’m not sure if the arrival of Andy Dick has me any more interested, but it does add some form of gay inclusiveness.

Jimmy Kimmel Live (ABC) 12:05 AM EST
Morrissey is scheduled to perform on tonight’s show. I’m guessing he’ll be performing his new single, "I’m Throwing My Arms Around Paris" which, I admit, didn’t win me over when I first heard it. Maybe that will change when I hear a live performance?

Lyle Masaki is a fan of obscure superheroes, video games, adorkable guys and that show you loved that got cancelled way too soon.
