Rachel Maddow Returning To Her Show After Two-Week Absence

And it couldn't come fast enough.

Rachel Maddow will be returning to her MSNBC show on Tuesday night after not appearing on air since May 25.

The host wrote a tweet on June 2 that explained she was sick in bed, but was otherwise mysteriously silent during her absence. MSNBC chief legal correspondent Ari Melber and AM Joy weekend host Joy Reid filled in for Maddow while she was gone.

MSNBC announced its plans for covering former FBI Director James Comey's Senate testimony this Thursday, but Maddow was not included in the network's on-air roster, adding to speculation about what may have been going on with the network's biggest star. There's no word yet as to whether or not she'll be added to the coverage now that she's returning to her show.

Maddow has been diligent in her coverage of the investigation into ties between Russia and the Trump campaign, providing a much-needed voice of resistance. But with the anchor having covered Russia more than any other cable news host, some started to fear that her absence was related to the investigation.

Rosie O'Donnell voiced what many of us were thinking in a tweet that welcomed Maddow back to the airwaves, letting her know it wasn't easy without her, but we're grateful for her return.
