A rainbow appeared over the U.S. Capitol today, Election Day, and LGBTQ Americans are hoping it is a sign of things to come.
A record number of LGBTQ candidates are running this year, sparking talk of a rainbow wave to go along with the blue wave. Early voting numbers, which showed a record number of young people and women voting–two key blocs for Democrats–suggests momentum is on their side but only time will tell.
In the meantime, people are sharing pictures of the rainbow and hoping for the best.
