"Reality Bites" To Become NBC Comedy, Destroy Our Nostalgia And Youth

The classic nineties film Reality Bites, a movie that brilliantly explored post-collegiate life in America and perfectly portrayed the culture of Generation X, is now set to become a NBC comedy, confirming the fact that everything we love will eventually be destroyed.

Behind this horrible endeavor is one of the stars of the original film, Ben Stiller, who hates art, loves money, and will serve as executive producer.

According to The Hollywood Reporter: "Reality Bites 2.0 is based on the film and revolves around a recent college graduate named Lelaina Pierce as she struggles to find her way romantically and professionally in the recession-plagued, pre-Internet early 1990s. In the show, set in Houston, Lelaina with her video camera will chronicle the lives of her 'slacker' friends with whom she shares an apartment."

We reached out to the film's other stars, Winona Ryder, Ethan Hawke, Janeane Garafalo and Steve Zahn, for comment, but all four were unavailable, as they were busy locking themselves in their bedrooms while crying and listening to Juliana Hatfield.
