Richard Branson Wants You To Join The Mile-High Club On Your Next Virgin Flight

A few years back, I was lucky enough to ride one of the first Virgin American flights from New York to San Francisco. Between the neon-pink-and-black decor, the free-flowing champagne and theferociously fierce flight attendants (ours was named Orlando and used to be a makeup expert at Bloomingdale's), it felt more like a nightclub than a flying sardine can.

Sir Richard Branson, Virgin's shagadellic CEO, is capitalizing on that vibe in this tongue-in-cheek clip promoting the airline's Seat-to-Seat Delivery service. Passengers can use their terminals not just to order meals or drinks for themselves, but for others on the plane. You can then follow-up with a come-on via the plane's instant-messaging system.

Some travel writers have noted the service could lend itself to awkward exchanges or even in-flight stalking, but is it really any skeevier than Grindr? Besides, it could have a happy ending: In 2010, a Virgin pilot married a gay couple over Canadian airspace.
