Rita Ora’s “Girls” Video Transports Us to a Lush, Lady-Laden Jungle

That kiss with Cardi B, though!

Rita Ora has dropped a steamy new music video for her controversial collab single, “Girls.”

Last month, the track’s release ruffled feathers among other LGBTQ recording artists, who claimed its lyrics (“Red wine / I just wanna kiss girls, girls, girls”) trivialized queer sexuality. The controversy prompted Ora, who had yet to speak openly about her sexuality, to out herself. The British pop singer took to Twitter, sharing with fans that she’d had “romantic relationships with women and men.”

Today, Ora released the song’s official music video, featuring cameos from her collaborators Bebe Rexha, Charlie XCX, and Cardi B. The music video sees Ora dance and sway suggestively in lush, lady-laden jungle. Her companions—all beautiful women—are strewn around her on luxe rugs, sporting blush-colored lingerie.

The number takes a dramatic and unexpected turn when Cardi B drops a verse, appearing as a hologram in the sky above Ora. The two flirt, eventually uniting—and locking lips.

On Twitter, Ora promoted the music video, sharing her love for her collaborators.
