In addition to the upcoming release of her new album, The xx singer Romy Madley Croft just got another reason to celebrate—she’s engaged!

Croft took to Instagram last week to announce her engagement to longtime girlfriend Hannah Marshall, a British designer and visual artist.

“Last night, a very special person asked me a very beautiful question," she wrote. "I said yes!"

The two celebrated their fifth anniversary three months ago, a milestone the British alt-rocker commemorated with a touching social media post.

"Can't believe it's been 5 years," Croft wrote on Instagram. "There are a million words I could say here about how much I love you, I'll tell you them all in person! For now, just know that I love you to the stars, you really are a such rare and beautiful creature. Thank you for always challenging me and being my cheerleader at the same time."

The xx is set to drop their third studio album I See You this Friday. The LP features the song "Hold On," which explores themes of young queer love.

In spite of the group's progressive politics, they're scheduled to perform at this year's Coachella, which may prove controversial given that festival owner Philip Anschutz recently came under fire for being tied to anti-LGBTQ groups.
