On February 12, at a party at Pump, a gay club in West Hollywood, openly gay model and actor, Ronnie Kroell, announced he is running for president as an independent candidate.

"My wanting to be president is rooted in a passion for the people, a desire to remind ourselves that the power belongs to US, and a deep inner calling that I cannot ignore that wants me to find a way to help heal our Nation’s wounds," Kroell told Towleroad at the event.

"I would argue that the most important challenge we must face is bringing love and logic back to our conversations. It’s time to listen to one another, not to respond, but to understand," he explains. Kroell lists JFK, RFK, Martin Luther King, Ghandi, and Ronald Reagan among some of his political role models.

If Kroell looks familiar you may recognize him from his role in Eating Out 4: Drama Camp, he was also a contestant on Bravo's Make Me a Supermodel. But if you are a RuPaul's Drag Race fan you might remember him from the Season 5 episode where he was a member of the Pit Crew.

In the episode's mini-challenge the queens had to match the Andrew Christian underwear worn by an expanded Pit Crew, which Kroell was one of the shirtless hunks featured.

Check him out in the clip below. Could he go from the workroom to the White House?

RuPaul's Drag Race Season 11 premieres Thursday, February 28 at 9/8c on VH1.
