Spotted: Blake Lively getting publicly insulted in Hollywood by Steven Soderbergh.

Remember when there was buzz that Blake Lively was the reason Megan Ellison/Annapurna backed out of financing Soderbergh’s new thriller Side Effects? Well, it seems like where there’s smoke there’s fire. Blake has been officially replaced on the film by the newly Oscar-nominated Rooney Mara.

Side Effects is a movie about a woman who becomes dependent on prescription drugs to deal with her anxiety about the release of her husband from prison. The main character, Emily Hawkins, is stuck in a love triangle between her husband and her doctor. Jude Law, Channing Tatum and Catherine Zeta-Jones also star as the husband, doctor, and doctor's wife respectively.

Now that Blake’s out, it’s possible that Annapurna will still finance the film but nothing has been confirmed. Poor girl didn’t stand a chance against Lisbeth once those Academy Award nods were announced.
