Roseanne Barr Reveals She's Going Blind
“It’s a good medicine, you know,” Roseanne Barr explains about her love of cannabis, a drug she claims is excellent for releasing us from "mind control."
Barr is using marijuana to combat her recent prognosis. “I have macular degeneration and glaucoma," Barr revealed to The Daily Beast, "so it’s good for me for that because I have pressure in my eyes. It’s a good medicine for a lot of things.”
The condition will ultimately leave Barr blind, she revealed.
"My vision is closing in now. It’s something weird. But there are other weird things. That one’s harsh, ’cause I read a lot, and then I thought, ‘Well, I guess I could hire somebody to read for me and read to me.’ But I like words and I like looking. You do what you have to do. I just try and enjoy vision as much as possible—y’know, living it up."
At 63, Barr shows no signs of slowing down amidst her ailments, but admits aging is bittersweet. "It’s tough you know. I’m in the youth of my old age. It’s very different from the old age of my youth. I’m just passing from one to the other.”
Barr is currently promoting her new film Roseanne For President! premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival tonight (April 21) and Saturday (April 25).
