Roseanne Says She Has New Show in the Works—Almost

Is it really a comeback if you've never left?

Roseanne “I’m not a racist, I’m an idiot” Barr is already plotting her comeback after her racist tweet comparing Barack Obama senior advisor and businesswoman Valerie Jarrett to a monkey got her successfully rebooted sitcom booted off the air.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Barr is claiming she’s already had booking offers and one may be in the works.

Speaking on Rabbi Shmuley Boteach’s podcast, Barr hinted at a return to the small screen.

“I’ve already been offered so many things, and I almost already accepted one really good offer to go back on TV and I might do it. But we’ll see,” she said.

ABC is currently working on a spinoff of Roseanne, The Conners, that will not feature Barr’s character, instead focusing on the rest of the cast.

The 65-year-old comedian told Boteach she didn’t ask for money when she signed away the rights to her show as an act of “penance” and that she “didn’t want to hurt the new show” or for the Roseanne cast, specifically African-American actress Jayden Rey, to lose their jobs.

Boteach also asked Barr if she apologized to Valerie Jarrett. Barr said she hasn’t, but she’s “praying for the right words.”
