Rosie O’Donnell Writes Poem About Meeting Ivanka Trump

The comedian had a surprise encounter with Trump's daughter earlier this week.

The feud between Donald Trump and Rosie O’Donnell took a surprising turn this week when the former talk show host ran into Ivanka Trump out in New York City, and the experience inspired Rosie to write a poem about it.

Donald Trump brought up Rosie O’Donnell during last month’s presidential debate, likely because it seemed easier than going into detail about his proposed plans and policies for the country, and reignited the feud — a narrative we’re sure Rosie wants to be excluded from.

So when O’Donnell bumped into Trump’s daughter at Nobu in NYC, people were surprised to hear the women may have had a pleasant conversation.

The comedian then took to her website to post a poem about the encounter, which provided a little more insight into the meeting.

Rosie revealed her first thoughts when she discovered the beautiful woman she saw at a nearby booth was Ivanka, adding she feared it would be bad for her health after previously surviving a heart attack.

dear god
i prayed
guide me
out of here

She eventually decided to go over and speak to Ivanka:

i walked the 5 steps toward her table
introduced myself
she smiled genuinely
her husband was warm and gracious

i told her of my children
some truths about myself
my pain and shame
she was absurdly kind

The meeting seemed to go very well — it certainly helps to have Donald nowhere in sight — and you can read Rosie’s entire poem here.
