Roy Moore Wrote A Poem About Santa Claus Dying

"It's hard enough to explain when daddy goes away—but impossible when Santa Claus dies."

Roy Moore has done just about everything instead of concede the December 12 special election to Democratic opponent Doug Jones.

He's called for a recount.

He taped a video attacking trans people, abortion rights, and marriage equality.

He tweeted an Advocate interview with Jones' gay son, Carson, baiting his followers to troll the out zookeeper.

And now he's written a poem.

On Christmas Eve, the failed Senate candidate released a video in which he recites an original work about a little girl who wouldn't get a visit from Santa Claus—because her sick father had just died.

"A Visit from St. Nicholas" it is not. Still, the clip has received more than 1,400 likes and been shared 430 times.

Thankfully, a concession from Moore is not required to validate the election: The results are slated to be certified today, according to Alabama Secretary of State John Merrill, and Jones will take office shortly after the new year.
