Surprise marriage proposals are becoming an increasingly familiar sight at Pride celebrations—but this past weekend’s parade in London had multiple proposals that made the crowd go wild.
The London-based Kings Cross Steelers is an LGBT-inclusive rugby team that has been marching in London’s Pride parade since 1995. During this year’s parade the team started to do a line-out—a way of restarting the game after the ball has been knocked out of play—while marching.
But then player Fernando Ferreira rose out of the fake formation and walked over to the side of the crowd watching from the side and singled out his boyfriend, Greg Woodford. Ferreira got down one knee and instead of a ball in his hand he revealed a ring. Woodford said yes and the crowd cheered as the two kissed.

The bystanders then lifted Woodford over the barricade and onto the shoulders of the other players where he kissed Ferreira in front of the cheering crowd. The two then walked the parade together, drinking champagne in celebration.

In addition to the the hunky rugby player getting down on one knee, a police officer also got a surprise proposal at London Pride when her girlfriend popped the question in front of the crowd. She too, said yes.
