RuPaul Announces New Book, "GuRu," Describes It As A "Talisman For Living"

Put on your reading glasses!

Make some room on your bookshelf because the queen of all queens, RuPaul, has announced his new book, GuRu, which he describes as a "talisman, a guidebook for living."

“[It’s] a collection of meaningful phrases and quotes that have helped me navigate the chaos of modern life,” he explained to People.

Ru's previous two books, Lettin' It All Hang Out and Workin' It are literary classics that we have underlined and dogeared over the years, and now we can't wait to get our kitty girl paws all over our official new book club selection.

The book will also include more than 80 photographs of Ru through the years, some that have never been seen before.

“I hope that fans will use the book for inspiration,” he adds. “It offers beauty, but also advice, insight and attitude. It’s more than just a bunch of pretty pictures.”

Last year, when NewNowNext interviewed Ru, he spoke about how he was currently writing the book, and teased what fans could expect:

"It’s an autobiographical format but throughout that format I infuse all of the things that I learned. It’s almost not like learning anything new, it’s actually like rediscovering things," the glamazon explained. "The biggest thing in myself that has changed since then is probably letting go of judgment of other people, of other situations."

Ru also talked about letting go of judgement when he spoke with People about the new book, saying that "if we approach the experience without judgement, we can open up a vast vista of unlimited colors, textures, shapes and ideas."

“It’s not important for me to know what God is, it’s only important for me to know that God is, and that we are all an extension of that grace.”

Can we get an amen up in here?

GuRu is scheduled to hit store shelves on October 23, so you have plenty of time to start forming your book club.

RuPaul's Drag Race Season 10 airs Thursdays at 8/7c on VH1.
