Last summer RuPaul’s Drag Race judge Michelle Visage was announced as one of the judges for the new series, Ireland’s Got Talent, the latest incarnation of the popular worldwide competition series.
The show is currently airing in Ireland, and RuPaul sent his number one squirrel friend a tweet in support of her newest judging gig. Now, a tweet between Ru and Michelle would not usually make headlines, but the glamazon queen tweeted the message in Irish.
A mhuintir na hÉireann! J an chraic? Cloisim go bhfuil mo chailín @michellevisage ag déanamh thar cinn ar @GotTalentIRL Is léir go bhfuil sibhse, na banríonacha, deadlaí agus maightí freisin, ach b’fhearr daoibh an obair a chur isteach nó is ag sashayáil away a bheidh sibh! pic.twitter.com/qP5VqD5gyF

And now the Irish children are losing their minds over the Supermodel of the World tweeting as Gaeilge:
Wow you’re practically fluent I understand less than half of that and I’m from Ireland

Can someone… please… help me… up… off… the floor https://t.co/FdxQghw8yV

Yep, this is @RuPaul tweeting through Irish, and nailing it. I’d guess from “maightí” that Ru is from Connemara. https://t.co/cfNIEJ1fPm

Official petition to have #SashayáilAway added to 'Favourite phrases of all time' immediately starts here. Cool? Cool. https://t.co/zN4oC1q3wO

Did that really just happen? Who knew that Ru was a gaeilgeoir??

RuPaul speaking Irish is all I ever wanted in life

When you realise Ru Paul has a better grasp of Irish than you … pic.twitter.com/YKKI1y7tZ7

What marketing flocking GENIUS is behind this?! I nominate them for World President, immediately if not sooner #RuPaul https://t.co/lnbdKTN6CT

The fact that @RuPaul tweeted in Irish is news in itself, but the care taken in the phrasing (it's absolutely not a Google Translate job) is remarkable.

And yes @RuPaul @michellevisage is now one of our own ☘️

In case you aren’t fluent in Irish, Ru’s message—in English—reads:
“People of Ireland! What’s the craic? I hear that my girl Michelle Visage is doing great on Ireland’s Got Talent. It’s clear that you queens are deadly and mighty as well, but you better work, or you’ll be sashaying away!”
This just proves whether it’s English, Irish, or drag speak, these two squirrel friends understand one another in any language.

RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Season 3 airs Thursdays at 8/7c on VH1.
