Jimmy Fallon Thought He Was “Canceled” After His RuPaul Interview

Was it Ru's beaver impression?

Jimmy Fallon thought he had to pack his bags last week—and it would have been RuPaul's fault.

As NewNowNext previously reported, two days before his hosting debut on Saturday Night Live, the Drag Race icon and TV mogul was a guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Fallon talked about his Ru interview Monday night on The Tonight Show, addressing a tense moment from the conversation when Fallon said Ru had recently made history as the first "drag queen" on the cover of Vanity Fair. Ru responded, "A drag queen?!" He then corrected Fallon by saying he is "the queen of drag."

The look of horror on Fallon's face—thinking he had just insulted the most popular drag queen on the planet—went viral over the weekend on Twitter. "I really thought it was over," the Tonight Show host said, reflecting on the gaffe. "That's it. I'm canceled... #JimmyFallonIsOverParty."

If anything, we thought Fallon might be canceled after he let Ru play Dirty Charades on national television. Luckily, Ru kept it mostly PG.
