RuPaul's "Kitty Girl" Gets Reimagined As A Soulful Doo-Wop Song

"It's your world!"

Strap on some cat ears and get ready to hear a RuPaul club classic in a whole new way.

Toronto-based singer—and Drag Race superfan—Leah Canali has teamed up with the doo-wop group The Spandettes to cover RuPaul's empowerment anthem, "Kitty Girl."

"Following Season 9 I just couldn’t get this song out of my head! Every time I would hear the chorus I would like: “Wow, that would make a really great doo-wop style cover," Canali told Gay Star News.

"It’s about going out into the world and knowing that you are a queen and owning it," added Canali. "Also, you only live once so you might as well live it up! That’s the vibe that I get from it."

This isn't the first time that she has covered the Supermodel of the World. Canali also gave her own spin to other Mama Ru hits like "Sissy That Walk," and earlier this year she released a beautiful mashup of RuPaul's "American" with Des'ree's '90s classic, "You Gotta Be."

Listen to the "Kitty Girl" cover below and going into the weekend remember you are the boogie-body-rockin' queen.

RuPaul's Drag Race Season 9: RuVealed airs Thursdays at 8/7c on Logo.
