Naomi Campbell and RuPaul left the runway and swung by the Watch What Happens Live clubhouse this week to have a lively chat with host Andy Cohen.
Ru revealed that he first met Campbell back in 1990 when she was on a photo shoot outside of his New York apartment. “You were in the trailer and you said: ’hey Ru, where’s the party tonight?'” recalled the Drag Race host.
The duo talked about everything from their early party days and Real Housewives to whether Ru would ever hit the road again touring his music.
“I used to tour for years and years, but with the selfie generation and everybody with the camera, I don’t want those phones in my face,” said the “Cover Girl” singer. “I sweat like the late Whitney Houston and I don’t want those pictures roaming around.”
“Maybe one day I’ll do it,” he added.
The RuPaul’s Drag Race contestants and judge Michelle Visage have hit the road in previous years starring in Battle of the Seasons, Christmas Queens and now the WERQ the World tour.
Even though a live show starring Mama Ru hasn’t been announced, he has been onstage more recently. He was the special guest DJ at the Planned Parenthood Resisdance charity event and he surprised the crowd at the Drag Race Season 9 party in New York.
So maybe thanks to Campbell and Cohen a RuPaul tour could still happen after all?
RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 9 premieres Friday, March 24 at 8/7c on VH1.
