RuPaul Shares The Secret To His Success In New CNBC Video, "How I Made It"

"It's important for everybody to play with all the tools, all the colors in the crayon box..."

RuPaul sat down to talk about his career and ru-veal some life lessons he's learned along the way in CNBC's video series "How I Made It."

"As of this year, RuPaul's Drag Race has launched the careers of 100 other drag queens," said Ru, when asked what has been his greatest accomplishment. "I've got to tell you that's the thing I'm most proud of. You know, our objective in starting this was to elevate and put focus on the artistry of drag and even its political and social implications. And we've done that. But I'm most proud of launching these careers."

In the video RuPaul also spills the T on what he believes his biggest failure has been, and why Judge Judy continues to inspire him.

He also elaborates on how doing drag for the first time was so life-changing and why "it's important for everybody to play with all the tools, all the colors in the crayon box to find what your frequency is."
