Winner, winner, chicken dinner!
After snatching three trophies at last weekend’s Creative Arts Emmys, RuPaul’s Drag Race won the grand prize, Outstanding Competition Program, at tonight’s 71st annual Primetime Emmys.

“Thank you guys so much. We’re so proud of this show and we’re so happy for all the gorgeous kids who come on and show how fabulous they are,” RuPaul told the audience in his acceptance speech. “Listen, thanks to the Academy for voting for us… because we love you for that.”
Ru then added: “And speaking of voting and love, go and register to vote, vote, vote. Register!”
During last weekend’s Creative Arts Emmys, RuPaul took home his fourth consecutive Emmy for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Competition Program. He now ties Survivor host Jeff Probst’s record for most wins in the category.

This marks the second year in a row that RuPaul’s Drag Race has won Outstanding Competition Program. It is the only show to win both Outstanding Competition Program and Outstanding Host for a Reality or Competition Program in the same year.
This year RuPaul’s Drag Race earned a record-breaking 14 Emmy nominations, the most for any series in VH1’s history.
The show also won Outstanding Costumes for Variety, Nonfiction, or Reality Programming and Outstanding Hairstyling for a Multi-Camera Series or Special.
