It  was a veritable RuPaul’s Drag Race All-Stars on Monday night, when a bevy of drag beauties descended on New York’s Out NYC hotel for the opening of “Why Drag?” a new photography exhibit by master lensman Magnus Hastings.

“Drag is the creative love of my life,” says Hastings. “I view it as both a magical fantasy world and as an art form.  In art, you can have a Picasso or a Matisse—you can also have a painting of velvet dogs playing poker. I like to think that my show is presenting a room full of Picassos.”

Seen at the show were Courtney Act, Milk (in boy drag), Jiggly Caliente, Willam and many more Drag Race alum both in person and on the walls. “Why Drag” runs at the Out NYC through August 26, when it goes on a U.S. tour.
