The Portuguese Translation of "Sashay Away" On "Drag Race" Is So Savage

Everybody don't say love?

RuPaul's Drag Race is a hit show seen all around the world, but when it comes to some of the most memorable phrases from the series, the lines can be lost in translation.

Any Drag Race viewer knows the phrases "shantay you stay" and "sashay away," but if you asked a fan in Portugal what Mama Ru says when she asks the girl to leave the stage after their lip sync you might get a different answer.

Twitter user Phi_lipi, who is based in Lisboa, Portugal, alerted RuPaul and Michelle Visage that when Ru says the iconic "sashay away" line, in Portuguese it is translated to: "Bye, go home, no one loves you."

Being asked to leave the Drag Race runway is hard enough, but then to have Ru tell you no one loves you? That is harsh. If no one loves you how you gonna love yourself?

This translation is rough, but these Drag Race girls better grow a thick skin before they are sent out into the shade-filled world—and you know they heard worse in the reading challenge.

RuPaul's Drag Race Season 9: RuVealed airs Thursdays at 8/7c on Logo.
