Oh, ‘fro she didn’t!!!! Manila pumped up the volume, and all the queens got their frocks off in this week’s music RuPaul-a-palooza challenge. And somebody’s boots were made for streetwalking…
A wise old lady once said “Music makes the people come together…” But was she watching last night’s episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race? (Actually, Madge probably has the show re-enacted live in her own London rec room each week, but recast by famous thespians. I’m totally feeling Judi Dench as Delta Work.) Nonetheless, this week the queens mounted their own South-By-South-Tressed music festival, as they all had to become American Idols and sing live and to a song they recorded.
Along the way, the contestants strapped on their heels for a game of Ru-sical chairs, which was probably the easiest mini-challenge ever; these bitches have clearly been toddling in pumps since pre-K. And did you notice that every song they toyed with was a RuPaul tune? Hunty, when it comes to self-promotion, Miss Ru makes P. Diddy look like a bumpkin!!!
In the end we got punk’d by Raja, went on a gay hayride with Shangela and watched as Alexis banged out the crunk in her trunk. But it all paled to the moment when a real former pop star, Michelle Visage (Look it up: Seduction!) reminded us that it really does take two (big knockers!) to make a thing go right.
Enough! I’m gonna go stage dive. You can watch this week’s “Drag Ya Later…” See you at the merch table!
Need to catch up to figure out what all the buzz is about? You can watch full episodes of RuPaul’s Drag Race at LogoTV.com and get caught up on all the sound and the fury. Rock on, Mary!
