Rupert Grint Watches "Drag Race" Religiously—He's Even Gotten His Dad Into The Show

Keeping Hogwarts fierce.

The latest installment of The Guardian's "On My Radar," where celebrities discuss what they are loving in pop culture, featured former Harry Potter star Rupert Grint listing what he is currently fangirling over.

He spoke about the play The Ferryman and the cast recording of Hamilton, but when it came to television the wizard name-checked the only program that matters: RuPaul's Drag Race.

"I watch this religiously. I came to it quite late, but I watched every single series in a very short period of time and was completely taken by it. I didn’t know what the drag world was all about so it was really educational," he said.

"It’s an art form I think a lot of people should know about and appreciate, because it’s really impressive. I like it when they have to make their own outfits, and I love Sharon Needles, she’s my favorite. It’s really good TV, and I’m constantly trying to get people to watch it. I’ve actually managed to get my dad to watch it."

We love when fans spread the gospel of Drag Race, especially when they get their family members watching.

If Hogwarts houses had televisions, obviously all of the students would be watching Drag Race, just to see the Muggles transform, not with magic, but with charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent.

Even Professor McGonagall needs magic to transform into a kitty girl.

This isn't the first time we heard about Grint's love for drag. In 2015 he told his fellow Harry Potter alum, Tom Felton, how he was talked into doing drag himself:

“I met this drag queen. And I ended up going back to her little flat with all her drag queen friends,” Grint recalls. “They dressed me up! We went to get bagels at 4am, and I was in full heels and feather boa. It was really weird!”

Are we the only ones hoping for a Harry Potter challenge on Drag Race Season 10?

RuPaul's Drag Race Season 7: RuVealed airs Thursdays at 8/7c on Logo.
