Rush Limbaugh: Obama Is Teaching Lesbians And Transgender Hillbillies How To Farm So They Can Take Over Red States

Limbaugh made the ludicrous comments on his radio show last week.

Conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh has joined other far-right Republicans in criticizing President Barack Obama for what they see as his attempt to flood rural communities with “lesbians and transgender hillbillies” in order to turn red states blue.

The criticism was inspired by the president's participation in the 15th annual Nationwide LGBT Rural Summit at Drake University in Idaho last Thursday. The event is held every year in an effort to bring LGBT people living in isolated rural areas together to share resources and network.

Right wingers, however, immediately attacked the gathering, calling it a waste of taxpayer money. They also complained that it was geared toward teaching LGBT farmers how to "get subsidies from the government."

Limbaugh took it a step further on his program when he decried the "latest Democrat scam."

“Have you heard about the Agriculture Department’s financial grants to lesbian farmers? You think I’m making this up? See, this is how they do it," he started.

“What the point of this is, folks, it’s not about lesbian farmers," he insisted. "What they’re trying to do is convince lesbians to become farmers."

“I’m like you; I never before in my life knew that lesbians wanted to be farmers," he casually remarked. "I never knew that lesbians wanted to get behind the horse and the plow and start burrowing. I never knew it."

But apparently enough money can make it happen," he continued. "The objective here is to attack—they’re already attacking suburbs, and that has been made perfectly clear by what happened in Milwaukee."

He concluded: "They’re going after every geographic region that is known to be largely conservative. They never stop, folks. They are constantly on the march."

For its part, the LGBT Rural Summit Series states that its mission is to "offer a unique opportunity for USDA and other federal agencies to share information relating to policies, programs, and services that exist to protect, promote and strengthen LGBT rural communities."
