Russell T. Davies, the brilliant creator of the original British Queer As Folk and the reboot of Doctor Who, has two hot new series on the way in early 2015—and they're coming to Logo!

Produced in conjunction with the UK's Channel 4, Cucumber and Banana both explore queer love in the modern metropolis of Manchester, England— but from two distinct perspectives: The hourlong Cucumber follows middle-aged gay man Henry Best (Vincent Franklin) and his long-suffering boyfriend, Lance Sullivan, while the half-hour Banana revolves around the younger characters who orbit Henry’s world.

No matter where the story leads, we can trust Davies to take us on a wild, unforgettable ride. “Cucumber and Banana are groundbreaking for the way they show intertwined narratives from two generations’ perspectives," said Stephen Friedman, president of Logo and MTV networks. "Even more importantly, the shows tell hilarious, incisive and very human stories.”

Vincent Franklin, (The Thick of It, The Bourne Identity) leads a cast that includes Freddie Fox (Pride, The Three Musketeers), Julie Hesmondhalgh (Coronation Street), Cyril Nri (The Bill) and James Murray (Defiance) as well as newcomers like Fisayo Akinade, Andrew Hayden-Smith (Doctor Who), Luke Newberry (In the Flesh), Letitia Wright (Top Boy), Georgia Henshaw (Waterloo Road) and comedian Bethany Black in her television debut.

Davies says he delighted to team up with Logo to bring these shows stateside. "It’s 16 years since I created Queer As Folk," he says, which means I’ve had 16 years to build up new characters, new stories, and new insights into our lives. Across both series, we explore gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender stories, as well as love beyond labels. This is '50 Shades of Gay,' and beyond!”
