An LGBT activist in Russia is using social media to shame homophobes in her native country who have been sending her death threats.

In April Lena Klimova launched “Beautiful People and What They Say to Me,” an online photo album where she posts public photos of seemingly benign individuals, juxtaposed with the violent threats they've posted on VKontakte, Russia’s largest social network.

The vulgar homophobes are seen posing with pets, girlfriends, even a bouquet of roses—but nothing can hide the stench of their hate.

In November, Russian police first started targeting Klimova’s group, Children-404, for spreading “gay propaganda.” In March, a St. Petersburg court ordered the group blocked on VKontakt. The court order took effect on April 25.

RuNet Echo re-posted some of Klimova's "collages," with the identities obscured and the hateful attacks against Klimova translated into English.
