Russian Man Murders Two Men After Being Told He Hugs "Like A Gay Man"
A 26-year-old man has been arrested for murdering two people in a drunken bar brawl in Novokuznetsk, Siberia, after allegedly being told he hugged "like a gay man."
The culprit reportedly embraced a male friend, and a woman in the group of people he'd been socializing with joked that the two looked like a gay couple.
Enraged, the suspect stabbed her in the chest, and went on to stab another woman and a man, before fleeing the bar.
Homophobic violence is all-too-common in Russia, fueled even more by the gay propaganda ban that deems any positive depictions of homosexuality a threat to children. In recent years, homophobic "vigilantes" have been entrapping gay men they met online, beating them and then posting the evidence on social media.
